| NOTES FROM NANCY
THE PAWN, Book I of a family saga, evolved out of my curiosity about my
roots when my grandmother passed on. The background in this historical
fiction arises from a combination of searching for clues about my
forefathers, stories from my friends and, of course, snippets from my
own imagination. A shy writer, I am more comfortable sitting at the
computer with a cast of stars than out in the real world marketing my
books. I am timid, not a risk taker, had I been, my life would have
certainly taken a different turn.
In contrast, in THE PAWN I created Josefina Taylor, a strong-willed
woman bent on fulfilling her ambitions and willing to risk everything to
reach for her dreams. THE PAWN is scheduled to be released August, 2005
by www.wings-epress.
BELONGING, Book II, is a follow-up to the heartbreak the Taylor family
suffers when trust is broken and the split is so deep-seated no amount
of shared blood or memories can convince the parties to forgive.
BELONGING is now released (February, 2006) by wings-epress.
SEPARATE WORLDS, Book III, carries on the legendary Taylor family’s
history with three siblings caught in France, Belgium, and Italy at the
outbreak of World War I. Their lives engage uninvited kidnapping,
despair, courage, deception, and a startling reunion. Completed and
expected to be released late in 2007.
PRINCE OF KEYS, Book IV, tells the tale of an orphan boy, forced to
survive the Great Depression on his own, who encounters the fourth
generation of the stoic Taylor family. Unfortunately, at this point in
time, Book IV consists of three chapters and scribbled notes in a spiral
book.
CAST THE FIRST STONE is "a subtle tickle" teasing my imagination.
Questioning if the main character, a woman, is a friend or predator, a
liar or victim? And what would you do if she were in your life?
